Course Description
This course requires a trip to Dakar, Senegal. Additional fees apply.
This course will be organized around, and involves participating in, the World Water Forum 9, March 21-26, 2022 in Dakar, Senegal (https://www.worldwatercouncil.org/en/dakar-2022 ). The trip to Senegal will be extended to include an assessment visit of WASH projects in rural areas of Senegal. The tri-annual forum has become the world's largest gathering of officials and professionals interested in global water issues and over 25,000 are expected to attend. Attendees include world leaders in water, sanitation, and health issues and represent governments, NGOs, academia, the private sector, and media professionals. Students will be involved in some combination of the following: (1) planning, organizing and/or conducting events at the Forum; (2) delivering presentations/posters; (3) researching and debating specific topics related to the Forum; (4) systematically interviewing experts at the Forum; (5) providing a collective assessment of the exposures at the Forum and in Senegal.
