The Pre-Health Programs team is thrilled to announce that UPenn AMWA has been presented the 2022-2023 AMWA Premedical Outstanding Branch Award. The award recognizes the group for hosting a series of events that serve the premed community in the Philadelphia region and for fulfilling the missions of the national AMWA organization.
UPenn AMWA is a Pre-Health Programs student group that supports Penn students’ personal and professional development as they become healthcare professionals. The group plans an exciting calendar of events and offers valuable insight into University resources.
Here’s what a few members of the group had to say about their experiences in UPenn AMWA:
“As a member of AMWA, I have been encouraged and challenged to explore my professional strengths and showcase my experiences to others. For example, I have the opportunity to lead an event where I highlight the role of doulas in helping to address maternal mortality and morbidity for women most at risk.”
Liz Odunaiya (Pre-Health Programs ’23)
“AMWA is unlike any other club I have been a member of—a community of lifelong learners. I feel fortunate to be a member of a group where everyone is always eager to learn and share lessons and events with everyone as we venture on our journeys to becoming healthcare professionals."
An Le (Pre-Health Programs ’22)
