Nancy Watterson serves as affiliated faculty in the Organizational Dynamics Programs, where she teaches courses introducing ethnographic methods and serves as a reader, advisor, and consultant on capstone projects and processes.

Nancy has taught courses at the University of Pennsylvania (in person and online) as an adjunct lecturer in Penn’s LPS for more than 25 years, with a primary focus on the MLA capstone writing and research seminar, as well as graduate and undergraduate courses incorporating ethnographic inquiry, mindful movement, public arts, and inter-cultural traditions and beliefs. Her research is rooted in experiential training and ongoing ethnographic research in Zhong Xin Dao/I Liq Chuan: The Martial Art of Awareness.

Nancy presents and publishes numerous articles on critical thinking, writing, and social justice; the creation of interdisciplinary, integrative curricula for Learning Communities; the intersection of faith, justice, and civic learning; and creative possibilities in community-based partnerships, especially by expanding the professional development capacities using the worldwide curriculum of Zhong Xin Dao/I Liq Chuan: The Martial Art of Awareness.

Nancy earned a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in Folklore and Folklife; an MA in English language and literature from the University of Michigan, and a BA in English from Oakland University, with a concentration in film aesthetics and history.
