Ramya Kumar is an organizational psychologist, organizational development professional, and executive coach with over 20 years of progressive, cross-industry experience in organizational development, change management, and leadership development. Ramya is passionate about helping individuals, groups, and systems navigate complex organizational challenges and developing leadership competencies in today’s executives via executive coaching, team coaching, experiential learning, and process consulting.
In her current role as the Associate Director of the Executive Education Programs in Change and Consultation at Teachers College, Columbia University, Ramya provides strategic leadership in the design, delivery, and evaluation of the Executive Master’s Program in Change Leadership. She also leads the coaching studios and peer coaching sessions for a diverse group of experienced senior-level and C-Suite professionals in the program. Additionally, Ramya is an adjunct in the S-OP master’s program and the executive master’s program in change leadership at TC and maintains a private practice of organizational consulting and coaching, specializing in working with diverse, multicultural, and virtual teams.
Ramya has a Master of Science in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania, a post-graduate diploma in human resources management, and holds SHRM-SCP, Prosci, Hogan, and KELP certifications. Ramya is currently a doctoral candidate in Social-Organizational Psychology at Columbia University. Her recent publication, Behind the screen of virtual teamwork: A systems psychodynamic approach to revealing what really makes a virtual teams work (Management Consulting in the Era of the Digital Organization, 2023), explores implicit dynamics impacting virtual teamwork, and her current research work focuses on examining the role of group processes in developing organizational change readiness.
