Course Description
Access to clean water and sanitation is one of the most pressing global challenges of our time. This course explores the technical, social, and economic factors that shape successful water resource projects, emphasizing the development of sustainable solutions that address both environmental and community needs. Through real-world examples and case studies from industrialized nations and Low- and Middle-Income Countries, students examine innovative approaches to water supply and sanitation developed in rural communities and evaluate how these strategies can inform larger regional and watershed-scale projects. The course emphasizes practical problem-solving, sustainable development, and the design of resilient water systems that improve public health and quality of life.
